How to install SMTPTracker
If SQL logging is needed, create new database on your SQL server. Define new SQL account which SMTPTracker will use to authenticate.
Unzip and install dowloaded package on your smtp server. Use sql meslog.sql script (appDirectory\sqlScripts) to create table on SQL server.
Run Start>Programs>SMTPTracker>SMTPTracker Admin to set up your configuration and enable SMTPTracker features.
The best way to test SMTPTracker features is to use telnet. Enter your local ip address to SMTPTracker's blacklisted ip addresses, enter some keyword to SMTPTracker's content filter. Connect using telnet to your smtp server running SMTPTracker and test filter.

How to configure Assassin2Exchange Filter
Install SMTPTracker onto your Exchange 2003 server, enable anti-spam and scl-routing. Setup s-tracker as back end server and enable spamassassin header resolution. Configure spamassassin header resolution mode on spamassassin tab.

How to test with telnet
Type open your_smtp_server 25
Type mail from: test@your_domain.com
Type rcpt to: your_address@your_domain.com
Type data
Type 'some_data' (replace this with your own data)
Type .<ENTER>

If you configured your local ip as blacklisted, your message will be rejected or SCL routed according your settings. If you configured your local ip as safe and set some keyword used in your test message as filered, your message will be dropped, routed to spambox or scl routed - according your settings. This is the way you can test the whitelist (if configured), content copy saving, sql logging and other features.

How to configure Active Directory Checking
AD checking works only if Exchange Server is installed in domain. Active Directory schema has to be extended by Exchange objects.
Run SMTPTracker Admin console, navigate to Configuration/External Services. Set the user ID and password with AD read privileges (domain user). Set your ldap path. It should look similar to this example:
LDAP://your-domain/dc=your-domain,dc=com
Press Test Connection button. If OK message is displayed, you can enable Active Directory filtering by checking the box on ADCheck tab.
